Accordingly to the brochures by the Tourism of Malaysia,

"Pulau Duyung" is the most well-known boat building ground in Terengganu.

"There, you can see boats being made by skilled boat builders

who implement skills which have been passed down from generation to generation.

Boat building is an art form therfore the boat builders take pride in their skill.

The Boat builders are unique, for they work entirely from their memory and experience,

and without any set plans. ...."

Early last year, we bought a new Engine for Cody and had to have it fitted.

A friend recommended a mechanic at Pulau Duyung.

Wow..I thought....we finally get to see a boat builder at work ??

Pulau Duyung is beneath the Sultan Mahmud Bridge near Kuala Terengganu.

Our crews drove Cody all the way, by sea of 'coz, from Merang to the Dock in Pulau Duyung

and we drove there by car to meet them.

What an interesting place Pulau Duyung is !!

Spotted another boat under construciton....

how convenient to be sheltered under the Sultan Mahmud bridge.

How do they get the finished boat into the river ? hmm.....puzzling....

Another boat awaits its turn ??

While my boss's busy with the mechanic,

I sneaked out to roam the little rustic kampong....
